Legendary Fence Company Louisville offers complete fence installation in Shepherdsville, KY for neighborhoods, small farms, and local businesses. We install privacy, chain link, ornamental, and ranch style fencing to match your property. With careful planning and professional crews, we deliver fences that look good and work hard for years.
Shepherdsville homes and properties come first
Shepherdsville is not a cookie cutter subdivision town, and your fence should reflect that. From older ranch homes on deeper lots to newer construction near the interstate, property lines in this part of Bullitt County are rarely identical. Lot widths, slopes, and existing outbuildings all play a role in how a fence should be designed and installed.
Homeowners in Shepherdsville deal with real day to day factors: kids and pets in the backyard, neighbors close by, and steady traffic noise in some areas. Privacy and security matter, but so does fitting a fence around existing garages, sheds, and above ground pools that are common on these properties. Legendary Fence Company Louisville focuses on Shepherdsville specifically, so we are familiar with how these yards are laid out and how the soil behaves in different parts of town.
Hiring a crew that drives in from far away often means they learn about your property as they go. We bring experience from working on similar lots, older septic systems, and a mix of city and county regulations. That helps us recommend a fence style and layout that fits the way people actually use their yards in Shepherdsville, not just what looks good in a catalog.
How Legendary Fence Company Louisville works on your property
Our process is straightforward and built around the conditions you see in Shepherdsville. It starts with a site visit, not a quick measurement from the curb. We walk the entire fence line with you, check for slope changes, and look for things like older concrete, tree roots, and past fence posts hidden in the ground. Many properties here have had at least one fence before, so we expect to encounter old materials and we plan for removal if needed.
We discuss how you use the yard today and how you expect to use it in a few years. This matters when choosing height, gate locations, and materials. For example, some Shepherdsville homeowners with side driveways want double gates for boat or trailer access. Others on smaller lots prioritize higher privacy panels at the rear and a more open look toward the front.
Before we set a single post, we confirm property lines with you based on existing markers, plats if available, or visible pins. We coordinate utility locates because many Shepherdsville homes, especially those built several decades ago, have utility lines placed differently than in newer subdivisions. Once the layout is finalized, we provide a clear written proposal so you know exactly what is being installed and how long it will take, with no vague language.
Building fences that stand up to Shepherdsville’s weather
Shepherdsville sees hot, humid summers, quick moving thunderstorms, and freeze thaw cycles in winter. Those conditions are hard on fences if they are not built with this climate in mind. Legendary Fence Company Louisville sets residential fence posts deeper than bare minimum guidelines and uses concrete footing methods that account for soil that can become soft after extended rain, which is common here along the Salt River valley.
We also consider wind exposure. Open lots or properties that back up to fields or commercial areas can experience stronger gusts, especially during spring storms. For privacy fences in these locations, we pay close attention to post spacing, rail support, and panel fastening so you are not dealing with loose sections after every weather front.
Water drainage is another local concern. Older Shepherdsville neighborhoods often have subtle low spots where water lingers after a storm. During our assessment, we look for those areas and adjust fence height, picket clearance, and gate installation so gates do not drag or stick when the ground shifts with moisture. These small decisions have a big effect on how your fence performs over several seasons.
Residential fence installation, replacement, and repair in Shepherdsville
Whether your existing fence has been there since before you bought the house or you are putting up a first time fence on new construction, we handle the full range of residential work. Many Shepherdsville homeowners call Legendary Fence Company Louisville when an older wood fence starts leaning or sections have rotted near the ground. We evaluate whether targeted repair is worth it or if full replacement will give you more value.
For new residential fence installation, we plan the project around your daily routine. We keep material staging organized so your driveway and access points stay usable as much as possible. If you have pets, we coordinate temporary solutions so they stay safe while the old fence is removed and the new one is built.
Repairs in Shepherdsville often involve storm damage, especially where wind has pushed over a corner or damaged a run of panels. We match materials and colors as closely as possible, and when that is not feasible due to age or sun fade, we explain the options clearly so you are not surprised by how the finished repair looks. Our goal is to extend the life of your fence when that makes sense, and recommend replacement only when repairs would be short lived.
Material choices that fit Shepherdsville properties
The most common residential fences we install in Shepherdsville are privacy wood fences, vinyl fences, and residential chain link. Each one fits a different need, and we help you choose based on how long you plan to stay in the home, how much maintenance you are willing to do, and your budget.
Wood fence installation remains popular around Shepherdsville because it fits both older ranch homes and newer builds. We discuss board thickness, post size, and stain or seal options that handle local humidity and sun exposure. For yards with more shade and slower drying times, we pay attention to airflow gaps and ground clearance to reduce long term rot.
Vinyl fence installation appeals to homeowners who want privacy without frequent upkeep. In Shepherdsville’s climate, quality vinyl performs well if properly installed and supported. We focus on solid posts, reinforced gates, and panel alignment so expansion and contraction with temperature swings do not create gaps.
Residential chain link fences are common along side and rear property lines, particularly for those who need secure containment for dogs without blocking sightlines. We install standard galvanized and coated chain link and can add privacy slats where needed. For custom residential fences, such as mixed material designs or decorative sections along the front while keeping privacy in the back, we plan transitions carefully so the fence looks intentional rather than pieced together.
